Each year since 1965, the University of Minnesota has recognized a select group of teachers for their outstanding contributions to undergraduate education. This honor is awarded to exceptional candidates nominated by colleges in their quest to identify excellence in undergraduate education. By Regents' policy, the award selection process is administered by the Provost's Office; a selection committee is convened and SCEP approves the final awards.As a recipient of this award, Randy joins members of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers (ADT). The title "Distinguished University Teaching Professor" or "Distinguished University Teacher" is conferred upon recipients together with a one-time $15,000 award.
The awards ceremony will take place at the McNamara Alumni Center on Wednesday, April 8th.
