Dr. Moin Syed has been elected as President of the Society for Research on Identity Formation (SRIF).

SRIF is the premier international society for the study of identity development. Dr. Syed will begin his two-year term as President-elect in May 2015, followed by two years as President from 2017-2019.

John Campbell Awarded This Year's Outstanding Contributions to Postbaccalaureate, Graduate and Professional Education Award!

John Campbell has been awarded the year's Outstanding Contributions to Postbaccalaureate, Graduate and Professional Education Award!

This honor is awarded to exceptional candidates nominated by colleges in their quest to identify excellence in graduate and professional education. By Regents' policy, the award selection process is administered by the Provost's Office; a selection committee is convened and SCEP approves the final awards. As you know, John served as our DGS for many years, has directed the I/O area, and has an admirable history of advising students toward successful careers. His former students wrote glowing letters in support of John's nomination.

The title "Distinguished University Teaching Professor" or "Distinguished University Teacher" is conferred, and John will receive a one-time $15,000 award. 

John will be honored at an awards ceremony at the McNamara Alumni Center on Wednesday, April 8th.

Randy Fletcher Awarded the Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award!

Randy Fletcher has been awarded the Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award!

Each year since 1965, the University of Minnesota has recognized a select group of teachers for their outstanding contributions to undergraduate education. This honor is awarded to exceptional candidates nominated by colleges in their quest to identify excellence in undergraduate education. By Regents' policy, the award selection process is administered by the Provost's Office; a selection committee is convened and SCEP approves the final awards.

As a recipient of this award, Randy joins members of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers (ADT). The title "Distinguished University Teaching Professor" or "Distinguished University Teacher" is conferred upon recipients together with a one-time $15,000 award.

The awards ceremony will take place at the McNamara Alumni Center on Wednesday, April 8th.

Congratulations to Professor Gordon Legge who will Receive the Helen Keller Prize for Vision Research

Professor Gordon Legge has been selected to receive the Helen Keller Prize for Vision Research. Helen Keller Laureates are selected by an international panel of biomedical researchers and physicians. The Prize ceremony occurs at the annual convention of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in May. Congratulations, Gordon!

Professor Alex Rothman received an NIH Award of Merit for exceptional advances in integrating cognitive, affective, and social processes into cancer control research at an event in November 2014 for his role as Co-Chair of the National Cancer Institute's Cognitive, Affective, and Social Processes in Health Research Working Group.

Professor Rich Lee received a Presidential Citation from American Psychological Association President Nadine Kaslow for innovative thinking in translating science into practice. Professor Lee was specifically recognized for changing the face of Asian American research in psychology through his research on the international adoption of Korean children.
