We are delighted to tell you that Carla Bates has been selected as a
recipient of the University's Outstanding Community Service Award.

Dear Psychology Colleagues,
I'm delighted to tell you that Carla Bates has been selected as a
recipient of the University's Outstanding Community Service Award.
According to the award letter to Carla:
"This award is one of the highest honors the University gives to a
staff member for service to the community. This award recognizes the
substantial and significant contributions you have made to the
community in your role as a University of Minnesota staff member. Your
contributions to building University-community partnerships and
programs benefit university students, faculty, staff, community
partners and citizens."
The award recognizes Carla's service to the community on the
Minneapolis School Board and in numerous other activities both on and
off campus.
Carla will be honored at a reception on April 23 and again at the
Board of Regents awards ceremony on May 10.
Please join me in congratulating Carla for this terrific honor and for
her great service to our community which it recognizes.
Best,
--Gordon
